Living The Dream & Luv’in It

Hey everyone,

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh….. I’m back.  Stephanie and I had a wonderful vacation.  I highly recommend  vacationing at least twice a year to enjoy life and remember what your working hard for.  Even when I was broke I camped and cooked over a fire in the Appalachian mountains during my college years and that was a blast too.  Balance is the key to sustaining a thriving life (and successful practice) over a long period of time.  Strive for balance and you’ll get the most return for your efforts – and the most fun too!

Here’s a few pics from Hawaii:

Keep your eye out for more changes to the Forum & the Website in the next month.

I’m building a few “biz toys” for everyone to play with before Christmas and bring in more business.

I’m glad to be back and looking forward to speaking with everyone on the call tonight.

A GREAT LOW COST LEAD GENERATOR – with a WARNING!!!

Everyone,

Here is a great low cost front-end lead generator with a WARNING:

Join a network group like BNI (Business Networking International).

WARNING: If you want to help more people and make more money follow these rules carefully:

1. Be selective – you want a good group that gives lots of referrals to each other and has enough members (ideally 20+). Check out a few groups before you make a decision.

2. Build a relationship with each one of those members in your group – start by giving them as many referrals as you can, do 1-on-1’s with them, and get to know them. You should know their hobbies, kids names, passions, and complaints.

3. Always get them talking about themselves first and listen as long as they want to talk. Don’t interrupt with a story about you.

4. Listen, listen, listen…and wait for them to ask about you.

5. Show them what you can do, don’t just tell them what you can do. Demonstrate you know what you are talking about without boasting or making it about you – just the work (See script for example).

6. Teach them how to refer people to you (This is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT). If you can’t imagine how to do it how will they?

Here’s what I tell/teach them:

“When you are talking with friends, family, and colleagues and they start to complain about a problem in their life like smoking, their weight, stress, or something like that – just listen, listen, listen…they’ll really appreciate it and it will help them to feel a good when they are around you. Because people like people who listen.

Then, when they are finished (make sure you let them finish), feedback the problem just enough so they know you ‘get them’ and know what they are talking about. They will love that.

Next, ask them if they ’sincerely’ want to do something about it? When they say “Yes” (And they will if you’ve listened and then fed back the problem to let them know you understand) then you hand them my card – and say “Give my friend Robert a call and have a conversation with him about this. He can help.”

Give them my card.

Then (if they are a good friend) pat them on the shoulder – and tell them they are a good friend or pay them a compliment about them as a person – not just about their outfit. It must be unique to them.

“You know what I really like about you?…” (Then, fill in the blank with a true compliment that you really feel).

…you’re a good friend.
…you always make me laugh.
…you are really good at ______.
…you are always there when I need someone to talk to.
…you are really dedicated to your family.
…you are creative.
…you have such amazing style.

(They are…So remind them! It will help them to feel good and help change the state from the one they were in when they felt bad about their problem to a new state of feeling good about themselves – it’s a nice gift to give).

NOTICE: We just accomplished 2 things. #1 I taught them a quick and easy way refer new clients. #2 I also showed them how to be a good friend and feel good about themselves (that’s the SHOWING part).

So now, they can practice helping others feel good about themselves, which makes them feel good about themselves.

And while they are doing that – if an opportunity comes up for a person to gain value from working with me – they’ll know exactly what to say and feel great saying it.

Remember this:

Always give value and you will get the opportunity to improve their life and your business at the same time.

Enjoy…and please share your comments!
